Ash Lane United Methodist Church

Organized in 1876, Ash Lane United Methodist Church served its original location for more than one hundred and thirty years before making the decision in 2017 to relocate to a wooded site two miles away. The new 30,000-square-foot facility reorients the church toward a residential community, nestling the building into the landscape and organizing the interior around a central commons.

In the sanctuary, exposed timber trusses, clerestory glazing, and stained glass introduce warmth and natural light into the 300-seat worship space. Suspended within this volume, twenty Duo 6 fixtures provide both direct and indirect illumination. The direct light ensures clear, even coverage across seating and circulation areas, while the indirect component softly uplights the glulam structure above, creating a layered, welcoming glow that enhances the architectural character and supports worship and community gathering.
