Portland International Airport

In the expansive redesign of Portland International Airport’s main terminal, an effort led by ZGF Architects and recently recognized as Project of the Year by The Architect’s Newspaper, over nine hundred of Meteor Lighting’s Signum 8 luminaires play a pivotal role in illuminating the space.

These fixtures are strategically installed between the natural wood panels that adorn the ceiling, which reaches a dramatic peak height of 54 feet.

Each Signum 8 has been custom-finished in Monorail Silver, seamlessly integrating with the terminal’s aesthetic and complementing the biophilic design elements that define the airport’s new look.

The installation also incorporates specially designed brackets and connections to support the scale of the project, ensuring both optimal illumination and a welcoming, stress-reducing environment for travelers.
